Travel is something that we all love, but never get enough time to actually do it. The rigors of daily life often weigh us down. So, when you have the opportunity to collect your thoughts, relax and enjoy life, you’ll want to in an environment that not only caters to your relaxation needs, but also your adventurous side. This month’s business spotlight is on Nemacolin, a retrofitted luxury adventure resort nestled in Farmington, PA.
In 1971, the Devil’s Head Ski Resort opened up for business. In 1998, I broke my wrist on one of their blue square runs. This trivial fact got a laugh out of Joe Vintengl, the general manager of Devils Head Ski Resort. It was a great way to start an interview.
The guest experience is priority number one at Mt. Abram resort, which offers a variety of terrain, a multitude of snow sports, and numerous family-friendly events. In short, Mt. They were warm and definitely waterproof as I tested them by falling often throughout my weekend.

Just to let you know, I’m a sportbike rider through and through, but for some reason I was on my way to Snowshoe Mountain in Snowshoe, West Virginia to learn skiing for the first time. Now being that I’ve never stepped foot on any type of ski, I needed a lot of assistance from start to finish. Task one; I had to find rental gear. We stopped by Snow-Creek Mountain Sports, a subsidiary of Ski Barn, to pick up what I would need for the weekend.
It seems like the U.S. ski-and-snowboard team can’t get any sponsorship love. Despite a team record of Olympic medal wins at the 2010 Games, revenue was down by 45 percent in total sponsorship.
Officials from the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) met last month to take action before the lack of sponsors began to affect the team’s performance.
