SIA_Women_ReportSnowSports Industries America (SIA) recently released their 2011 Women’s Market Intelligence Report, which discovered that women influence 80% of consumer spending in the snow sports marketplace. Regardless of the fact that a majority of winter athletes are male, women have a significant say in the purchasing decisions of their family members.

ski__snowboard_expoDuring the annual Boston Globe Ski and Snowboard Expo hosted by SnowSports Industries America (SIA), guests were presented with an overview of snow sports trends, new product technology, Northeast-based research, participation, demographics, and an idea of how snow sports will be affected by predicted weather trends.

Learn_to_Ski_and_Snowboard_MonthLearn to Ski and Snowboard Month (LSSM) is getting into full swing as ski and snowboard areas nationwide begin to announce the programs that they are offering in January. As participating venues announce their program offerings, they will be posted on the LSSM website at skiandsnowboardmonth.org.

SIA_Snow_Show_2012The SIA 2012 Snow Show is shaping up to be an even bigger event than it has been in previous years. Pre-registration, early hotel bookings, and booth space committees predict numbers that will be considerably higher than in the past.  Pre-registration suggests a 14% increase in retail shops that haven’t before been involved in the Snow Show, and exhibit space has been expanded by 11,000 square feet since last year.

Colorado_Ski_Country_FlightsNew flights are being offered to Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) for this upcoming ski season. A variety of airlines are extending their flight offerings during the winter season to offer more options and easier access to travelers who are heading to Colorado’s ski resorts.
